Free Games, why certainly sir!

I stumbled upon A Gnomes’ Lair a while back and was immensely impressed with the round-up of free games in one post. The usual suspects rared their heads (GTA, The Hitchhiker’s Guide and so on, but there’s quite a few I hadn’t heard of before. Of course you could do worse than check out the Adventure Games Studio and of course the Software Archive at Archive.org.

BTW – The screenshot above is from the jaw-droppingly beautiful Halo 0 game. Who says 2d games can’t be visually stunning?

In other cool game-related-link-news, la Molleindustria has some great ’subversive’ games. I loved the McDonalds parody, although I kept running out of cows.
