You know you’ve spent too much time on a Mac when…

Sorry I haven’t been posting for the past few days, I’ve not been feeling too good and the workload’s been up through the roof – the two are probably connected somehow, but what the heck. Anyways, if you’ve ever spent time on a mac (or have a loved one who spends a lot of time on a Mac), then you’ll recognise some of this.

You know you’ve spent too much time using Macs when:

  • You read TUAW, AppleInsider and Think Secret 5 times a day or more.
  • You have a have a del.icio.us apple tag bookmark.
  • You have at least several iPods, some with working batteries.
  • Your heating bill is nonexistent, thanks to that dual G5 in the corner of the room. Your electric bill on the other hand…
  • You flat out refuse to use any computer that doesn’t meet your aesthetic standards
  • You think that it’s perfectly acceptable to e-mail files compressed wtih stuffit, binhex et al to people who use other operating systems. When they complain that they can’t open it, you tell them to get stuffit or binhex rather than just resending in .zip form.
  • You’re quite happy paying over the odds for a system that actually runs slower than an equivalent Windows one
  • You think that fuzzy blurred text is better than cleartype, even though your optician disagrees.
  • You think that 1Gb of ram is a perfectly fine usable minimum for an OS
  • The idea of using faster, cheaper and more powerful CPUs is abhorrent, not because they’re better but because they’re Intel!!!

There are plenty of other signs of spending too much time on a Mac, what ones can you think of?

Hey, I’m cool with Macs. In fact I’m quite fond of my remaining Mac (after I got rid of the rest when the cluster fell over).

It runs a really cool Unix-like OS with a great interface. It’s called NetBSD and ZSH from ports ;)
